Position Overview:
EZ Freight Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Logistics Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our logistics systems and processes. The Logistics Engineer will play a critical role in improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely delivery of products. This position requires strong analytical abilities, technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Implementation: Develop and implement logistics systems and processes that optimize the flow of materials and products through the supply chain, ensuring efficient distribution and inventory management.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze logistics data, including transportation costs, delivery times, and inventory levels, to identify trends and areas for improvement. Utilize statistical analysis and modeling techniques to support decision-making.
  • Process Optimization: Evaluate current logistics operations and develop strategies to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and lower operational costs. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Technology Utilization: Identify and implement technology solutions, such as warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and inventory control systems, to enhance logistics operations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and distribution, to ensure alignment and integration of logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Project Management: Lead logistics projects from conception to implementation, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve project goals.
  • Supplier and Carrier Management: Collaborate with suppliers and transportation carriers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance to maintain service quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish quality control processes for logistics operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to logistics staff on new systems, processes, and technologies, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation related to logistics operations, including process maps, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Present findings and recommendations to management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Lean Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in logistics engineering, supply chain management, or a related field, with a proven track record of process improvement and project management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in logistics software, data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL), and modeling techniques. Familiarity with WMS and TMS is preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing logistics processes and documentation.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
