Position Overview:
EZ Freight Inc. is looking for dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associates to join our logistics team. The Warehouse Associate will play a crucial role in supporting warehouse operations by performing various tasks related to receiving, storing, and shipping products. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Goods: Unload and inspect incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of items received against shipping documents and reporting any discrepancies or damages.
- Inventory Management: Assist in organizing and storing products in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring that inventory is properly labeled and easily accessible.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to established procedures, ensuring accuracy and quality in the fulfillment process.
- Shipping and Dispatching: Prepare shipping documents and labels, and load outgoing shipments onto delivery vehicles. Ensure that all packages are securely packed and ready for transport.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move and handle products as required. Maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of inventory and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and organization, and report any issues or safety hazards to the Warehouse Manager.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipping and receiving logs, and other documentation as required. Assist with inventory counts and audits.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to company policies.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations and effective communication regarding inventory and shipments.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager, which may include assisting with special projects or participating in cross-training.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus, but not required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items (up to [insert weight]) and perform physical tasks, including bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks and handling inventory.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management (experience with warehouse management systems is a plus).
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices in a warehouse setting and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
