Position Overview:
EZ Freight Inc. is seeking an organized and proactive Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations and ensure efficient management of inventory, logistics, and staff. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for maintaining a safe and productive working environment, optimizing warehouse processes, and ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations Management: Oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate tracking of stock through regular audits and cycle counts. Implement inventory management best practices to minimize discrepancies and reduce waste.
- Process Optimization: Analyze warehouse processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions. Promote a culture of safety awareness among warehouse staff.
- Space Management: Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions to maximize space utilization and improve accessibility. Plan for seasonal fluctuations in inventory and adjust storage strategies accordingly.
- Order Fulfillment: Oversee the order picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. Monitor order accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Equipment Maintenance: Manage the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, ensuring that all equipment is in safe working condition.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to manage incoming shipments, ensuring that materials are received on time and in good condition.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including inventory levels, shipping and receiving documentation, and employee performance. Prepare reports for management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or logistics, with a proven track record of managing warehouse operations and teams.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess processes and implement improvements.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with inventory management software is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing inventory and warehouse processes.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as required in a warehouse environment.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
